Admin history/BiographyThe club was founded in 1960 as the Antonine Players. Then in 1963 a choral section was added (the Antonine Singers) and the Club changed its name to the Antonine Theatre Group. The Group also had a junior choral section called the the Antonine Junior Singers. In 1969 the Group opened the Fort Theatre in an extended and converted former barn at the back of Brackenbrae House which had been taken over by Bishopbriggs Burgh for a community centre. The 96 seat theatre was designed by Tom Allan of Thomson, Weddell and Partners, Glasgow. Previously the Group had met and rehearsed in temporary huts. The Fort Theatre's opening production was 'The Hollow Crown' by John Barton.
