DescriptionThis fleece came from a Blackface sheep of Gartmore Farm, Milton of Campsie. The Blackface or Scottish Blackface sheep is a common British breed. This fleece was shorn by the leader of the Blane Vallery Dance Band, William Prentice. The rest of the fleece was used to produce the tartan material, woven in Brora, and made into the Band’s jackets.
