Gleneden

\'Gleneden\', Kirkintilloch Road, Lenzie. Situated beside the north entrance to Lenzie Station, it was built c.1870 by Glasgow bookseller/publisher Robert Forrester, who had his shop in Queen Street. Forrester was one of the most efficient of Glasgow rail commuters, having only a few steps to walk at each end of his journey. When he died in 1927, at the age of 94, he was described as Lenzie\'s \'oldest resident\'.
