Description

Altar, St. Ninian's R.C. Church, Union Street, Kirkintilloch.
The high alter is worked in Caen stone, alabaster and marble, designed by Mr P. P. Pugin of Pugin & Pugin, London, and executed by Mr. Boulton of Cheltenham.
The alter stone (Caen stone) weighs fourteen hundredweight (112 stone) and is supported by six red marble pillars with the chalice and host encircled with vines carved below, flanked by carved panels.
