Bridge-keeper's House

Bridge-keeper's House at Farm Bridge, Mavis Valley, early 20th century. The building was also known as 'Brash's' since the Brash family had held the post of bridgekeeper from 1838 to 1942. This photograph was taken during John Brash's time in the post, between 1895 and 1928. It is quite possible that he is one of the assembled company in the photograph. The cottage was demolished in the 1970s.
