Description

Interior of the West of Scotland Laundry Clober Road Milngavie. These large powerful washing machines consisted of an outer cylindrical casing which held the soap and water and a perforated inner cylinder made of brass with a surface that was as smooth as a mirror. When the washing was completed the clothes were then taken to the hydro-extractors which were perforated cages that spun at 1400 times a minute.
