Description

St Germain's Loch Bearsden, with the villa "Ellergreen" visible. St Germain's Loch is a natural loch of unknown depth. In the past villagers used to skate on the loch during hard winter frosts. The name of the loch dates back to before 1835 at least, as the local Parish Minister of the time associated the name to St Germanus a companion of St Patrick.
