Description

Sir John Ure Primrose, Lord Provost of Glasgow, driving the first ball at the opening ceremony of the Killermont course, 21st May 1904. Elected as Lord Provost in 1903, a position held by his uncle, also John Primrose, during the period 1880-1883, Sir John was Honorary President of Glasgow Rangers Football Club, 1888-1912 and Chairman, 1912-1923.
