Description

Halley Lorry operated by Powell's Preserves, Low Fell. This is a B-type lorry manufactured in 1927. Man and boy stand next to the lorry ready to start the day's work perhaps?

Halley's Industrial Motors Ltd. formed in 1906, were, in their early years, one of Britain's most important heavy vehicle makers. The company was liquidated in 1926.

The Halley family operated a caravan sales business at Burnbrae, Milngavie from 1955, which became Halley's of Milngavie car sales and motor garage. When Arnold Clark bought the business in 2012, Gordon Halley remained as general manager.
