Description

Halley Vans, showing James Taylor (Wheatholm) Limited Airdrie. Three vans ready for deliveries of bread, biscuits and cakes. On the van (left of the photograph) the drivers are smartly dressed and the sign just above their heads states "High Class Biscuits".

Halley's Industrial Motors Ltd. formed in 1906, were, in their early years, one of Britain's most important heavy vehicle makers. The company was liquidated in 1926.

The Halley family operated a caravan sales business at Burnbrae, Milngavie from 1955, which became Halley's of Milngavie car sales and motor garage. When Arnold Clark bought the business in 2012, Gordon Halley remained as general manager.
