Archival historyThis was founded in 1999 with the support of East Dunbartonshire Council and Strathclyde Police by young people in Milngavie. It was located in a property in a car park in Milngavie Village centre. This area had been identified as being associated with underage drinking and anti-social behaviour. The drop in cafe was set up to offer freedom, ownership and a menu of activities. It operated 4 nights a week and established links with the Homelessness Team who ran information evenings on welfare rights and sexual health.
The acfe was supported by a steering group of representatives from East Dunbartonshire Council, Strathclyde Police and the Allander Rotary Club. It was staffed by sessional youth workers and a part time caretaker.
